Results of the Oct. 5th Treasure Coast Casters Senior Division Tournament

October 5, 2014

We started off the monthly inshore tournament to a slight chill in the air and it was a nice treat but the temps soon went from 64 right back up to 85!  The boats left Jaycee Park just after 7am and were off and hunting fish.  We had a little of everything on the fish list today - blackdrum, bluefish, croakers, flounder, mangrove snapper, pompano, redfish, sheepshead, snook, Spanish mackerel and trout.  We only had 3 of the species caught today.  If this had been a trash fish tournament then everyone would have won!  The cold front shut down the inshore fishing except for the 3 lucky anglers that did catch a fish from the list.

We would like to welcome Tanner Dashner to the Senior group.  The results will be short and sweet - Andrew Evans caught 2 snapper, Colton Hester caught a snapper and Dylora Kohler caught a 2lb. 4oz. redfish, a very nice trout and 2 snapper.

Middle School Division
1st Place - Andrew Evans - St. Anastasia - 30 points
2nd Place - no fish weighed
3rd Place - no fish weighed

High School Division
1st Place - Dylora Kohler - Ft. Pierce Central - 90 points
2nd Place - Colton Hester - Ft. Pierce Central - 15 points
3rd Place - no fish weighed

Biggest Fish of the tournament went to Dylora Kohler for her redfish.  Along with her trophies Dylora received a gift card to the Fishing Center that was donated by Pat & Gwen for 1st place and a Daiwa Coastal 4000 reel that was donated by Capt. Ron Gauthier of Ocean Explorer TV.

Before the weigh in we took a minute to recognize one of our volunteers - Capt. Charlie Conner.  We usually do this at our annual cookout but he wasn't able to be there so we gave him a custom Treasure Coast Casters shirt with his name on it.  We couldn't do what we do without all the GREAT volunteers we have!

Our guest speaker at our meeting on Saturday was Capt. Chris - Beachwalker Guide Service.  He shared a lot of great info with us and also raffled off a guide trip which Angelita Tyner & Dylora Kohler won!  Thanks Capt. Chris!

Thank you to our boat volunteers - Capt. Charlie Conner, Anna Green, Bill Kidd, Capt. Danny Markowski, Clinton Skinner & Capt. Rob Ward!
