Results of the TCC Juniors Tournament

Nov. 16, 2014

What a beautiful morning we had for the TCC Juniors tournament!  The weather could not have been any better and the bite was okay, but not on fire.  We would like to welcome Orion Hall, Amelia Posyton and Mia Posyton to our group.  We had 22 TCC's sign up and 20 fished.

We had a total of 15 fish brought to the table with a wide variety - 2 catfish, 2 stingrays, jack, snapper and the rest were puffers.  We also had a big crab and a starfish.  We haven't had this many puffers in a long time.  The most important thing is the kids had fun and all the fish were released.

1st Place - Nicholas Rosario - Fairlawn Elementary - 4th grade - Ft. Pierce
2nd Place - Quinn Bostic - West Gate K-8 - 3rd grade - Port St. Lucie
3rd Place - Jordyn Beeten - Liberty Baptist - 4th grade - Ft. Pierce

Biggest fish of the tournament went to Nicholas Rosario for his 2lb. 10oz. stingray.  Jordyn Beeten missed biggest fish by 2oz. and she also had a stingray.  Nicholas received a trophy and a gift card to the Fishing Center that was donated by Pat & Gwen.

We had one other award this tournament and it was for the catch that was not a fish.  We had a big crab and a starfish.  We put the two names in a bucket and Kaleb Kneip was the winner with the crab.  The category for this award will change each tournament.  The extra medals we are giving out were donated by Jim Oppenborn.  Jim is the head of the Inshore Reef Restoration Program for St. Lucie County and many of you have meet him when we bagged oyster shells as part of our volunteering.

We hope everyone had a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!  See you in January.
