January 11, 2015
After watching the weather for the last few days we were not really sure if we would get to have the tournament. But, we did and it was a beautiful morning despite the strong breeze we had. It was a very productive tournament as we had 3 fish to the table after only 5 minutes of fishing. We had a total of 29 fish that were caught and released!
We would like to welcome Shannon Martin and Mia Santiago to our group. We had a wide variety of fish weighed in today. Nicholas Rosario was the 1st one to the table with a nice sized catfish. Next was Kaleb Kneip with a puffer. Kaleb came back 6 ore times with fish. Next was Shannon Martin with a puffer. This was the first fish he had ever caught on his own and he did get one more. Cameron Hicks was next with a ladyfish and then he had 2 jacks and a nice trout. Troy Daher had a puffer and came back 6 more times. Talia Montalvo impressed the crown with a 5lb. 5oz. stingray and she also had a catfish. Mia Santiago had 2 puffers. Jordyn Beeten had a 1lb. 6oz. sheepshead and a 1lb. 12oz. trout and Orion Hall had a catfish.
1st Place - Kaleb Kneip - Bayshore Elem. - Port St. Lucie
2nd Place - Troy Daher - Pierce Hammock Elem. - Loxahatchee
3rd Place - Cameron Hicks - Weatherbee Elem. - Ft. Pierce
Biggest Fish - Talia Montalvo - Glendale Elem. - Vero Beach. Other than her trophy and goodie bag Talia got a gift card to the Fishing Center that was donated by Pat & Gwen!
A big thank you to Clint Walker of the Fishing Center for donating a Shimano rod and Cameron Hicks was the lucky winner!
Another BIG thank you to Danny and Dorothy Markowski for helping me with unloading, setting up and weighing the fish. Hopefully by the next tournament I will not be using the walker and things will be back to normal.
See you in February!
