Today we held the fish off for the Treasure Coast Caster of the Year. The weather could not have been any better! The top 4 finalist left Capt. Joe's Bait & Tackle at 6:45am and headed out. Due to the temps in the 90's everyone agreed to come back to the docks at 11am instead of noon.
There were 12 fish on the fish list. Each TCC was given, a fish list but there were no point values on it for the fish. We did things a little different this year. We printed out numbers starting with 5 and making a 5 point jump each time. We then folded the numbers up and had a group of people help us draw a number as we went down the fish list. We had a group of 4 different family members and Capt. Charlie Conner drawing. When the TCC's got back to the dock they had no idea what each fish was worth. Andrew Evans had 2 snapper that were worth 50 points. Colton Hester had 2 snapper and a black drum that were worth 60 points and Savannah Ward had 2 bluefish, 2 snapper and 2 sheepshead that were worth 150 points.
1st Place & Treasure Coast Caster if the year for the 2nd year in a row - Savannah Ward. - 150 points - Westwood High - Ft. Pierce
2nd Place - Colton Hester - 60 points - Ft. Pierce Central - Ft. Pierce
