Sept. 27, 2015
Today we held our monthly inshore fishing tournament for the Senior Division of the Treasure Coast Casters. We had beautiful weather and the finger mullet were running by the thousands.
Well...all I can say is that it has been over a year and a half since we had only 1 fish come to weigh in! All of the TCC's caught fish - short snook & short snapper along with the usual jacks, catfish, puffers and grunts. You know if Capt. Charlie Conner said it was tough fishing then it really was tough fishing! Colt just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
Colt Krischke was the lucky angler of the day. His boat volunteer - Chad Painter lead him to a 33 &1/2 inch snook (released) which was Colt's biggest snook to date. Colt's winning fish was a 27 inch redfish that weighed in at 5lb. 13oz. Both of his fish were caught on finger mullet.
1st Place Middle School - Colt Krischke - Lincoln Park Academy - Ft. Pierce - 35 points
No other fish were weighed in either division.
Colt also got Biggest Fish of the tournament for his redfish. Along with his trophies he received a $25 gift card to West Marine, a goodie bags with fishing items and a MirrOLure hat.
Our next tournament will be the end of October.
