Results of the Treasure Coast Casters Junior Division Tournament

Jan. 31, 2016

Today we held our bi-monthly from shore fishing tournament for the Treasure Coast Casters Junior Division.  We had 18 TCC's fishing today.  We would like to welcome Jason Sessana & Annsely Sugg to our group.  We had a total of 11 fish caught and released today.

Dayton Franqui was the 1st to the table and he had a 1lb. 3oz. sheepshead.  Next we hear someone calling to us and it was Kaelb Kneip's dad.  He said that Kaleb had caught a fish and they couldn't bring it to the table for weigh in.  So...Tammy and I ran down there to find a 20 plus pound stingray!  This was Kaleb's 1st stingray and what a stingray it was!  Amanda Daher was next with a puffer.  Cameron Hick came to the table 3 times with a 2 catfish and a small snook.  Annsely Sugg was next with a nice size snook.  Jake Lee was there 3 times with puffer fish and Dillon Furiato was also there with a puffer.  All fish were released.

1st place - Cameron Hicks - Weatherbee Elem. - 5th grade - Ft. Pierce
2nd place - Jake Lee - Liberty Baptist - 4th grade - Ft. Pierce
3rd place - Dayton Franqui - Oak Hammock - 2nd grade - Port St. Lucie

Biggest Fish - Kaleb Kneip - Bayshore Elem. - 5th grade - Port St. Lucie.  Along with his trophy and goodie bag he received a gift card to the Fishing Center that was donated by Pat & Gwen.  For the last 4 years Kaitlyn Ward has held the record for the biggest fish caught at a Junior's tournament until today.  She had caught a 4lb. redfish.  I think it will be quite a while before anyone breaks Kaleb's record!

We would like to thank John & Theresa Gilson for all their help today.  They have been very big supporters of the Treasure Coast Casters since the beginning!

Our next tournament will be on March 20th!
