Feb. 14, 2016 Today we held our regularly scheduled inshore tournament for the Senior Division of the Treasure Coast Casters. We were not too sure if we would be able to have it with the way the wind has been the last few days. We did delay our leave time by 1 hour due to the colder temps. They left the docks at Capt. Joe's Bait and Tackle at 7:45am and the weather did improve as the morning went on. We would like to welcome Paulina Hafner to our group. Before we get to the results we need to take a minute and thank our boat volunteers! They were able to put the TCC's on a good number of fish. They actually brought back 43 fish for weigh in. Our volunteers are Bret Adams, Anna Green, Chad Painter, Capt. Charlie Conner & Capt. Rob Ward. We had a wide variety of fish come to the scales - black drum, bluefish, croakers, mangrove snapper, pompano and sheepshead. Middle School Division 1st place - Michael Rochedieu - St. Anastasia - 60 points 2nd place - Kaitlyn Ward - Fairlawn Elem. - 45 points 3rd place - Brayden Adams - F.K. Sweet Elem. - 30 points High School Division 1st place - Ty Walker - Westwood High - 100 poitns 2nd place - Savannah Ward - Westwood High - 45 points 3rd place - Andrew Evans - John Carroll High - 30 points Biggest fish of the tournament went to Ty Walker for his 4lb. 7oz. black drum. Along with his trophy he received a gift card to the Fishing Center that was donated by Pat & Gwen and a MirrOlure Buff donated by MirrOlure. Another quick thank you to our guest speaker at Saturday's meeting - Pompano Rich. He had a lot of great info for the TCC's and a lot of hands on things for them to do! |
