Results of Treasure Coast Casters Senior Division Inshore Tournament 10-21-12

October 21, 2012

Today we held our 1st artificial only tournament! We knew that some of the TCC Seniors would do great and some would struggle. We had a beautiful - cool morning as the boats left Jaycee Park at safe light. I had put just about every fish on the list that had been caught during the week - blackdrum, bluefish, croaker, flounder, mangrove snapper, pompano, redfish, sheepshead, snook, spanish mackerel and trout.

It seems that the D.O.A. shrimp was the bait of choice today. All the TCC Seniors caught fish with theirs but a lot were short - snook, snapper and trout. They also caught a good number of jacks and ladyfish too. Taylor Meding had 2 very nice flounder with one weighing 2lb. 12oz. She also had a nice trout. Taylor caught all her fish with a D.O.A. Bait Buster. Today was the first time Taylor had fished from a Gheenoe and she said she can't wait to fish from it again! Savannah Ward had one very nice trout - 4lb. 14oz. She caught hers on a D.O.A. shrimp in I guess you would call it a clear color with a chartreuse tail. What can I say - Treasure Coast Casters and D.O.A. Lures - what a Deadly Combo!!
High School Division
1st place - Taylor Meding - St. Lucie West Centennial - Port St. Lucie - 75 points
2nd place - no winner
3rd place - no winner

Middle School Division
1st place - Savannah Ward - Forest Grove Middle - Ft. Pierce - 25 points
2nd place - no winner
3rd place - no winner

Biggest fish of the tournament went to Savannah for her 4lb. 14oz. trout. She received a trophy and a gift card to the Fishing Center that was donated by Pat & Gwen. All the items in the prize bags were donated by D.O.A. Lures and the Fishing Center. A special thank you to GT Supplies for sponsoring out trophies for the whole season!
